Our classic car Service and Maintenance Manuals and classic car Workshop Manuals cover the period 1930 to 1980, and we aim to add more from other periods soon. We have an agreement to reprint the Pitman's Motoring Library series, very practical manuals on servicing and maintenance, long out of print and commanding high prices today even for old oil-stained copies, We are also compiling highly practical service and workshop manuals on cars for which, so far as we know, full factory manuals were never issued.

Ford Escort Rally Preparation
book coverThe works-entered Mk 1 and Mk 2 Escorts were the world's most successful rally cars with a record that has never been beaten. This is the book about how they were modified and prepared. Not an outsider's view, this is the real nitty-gritty, nut by nut and bolt by bolt story written by Charles Reynolds, Ford's Competitions Co-ordinator, with research by Mick Jones and works driver Henry Inurrieta. This is the inside story, straight from the Ford rally workshops at Boreham, of all the secrets learned in the unforgiving field of international rallying. It was originally published in a limited edition by Ford Motor Company, circa 1980, to help private rally entrants build 'works' replicas. It was out of print for years but has been reset and reprinted by us in A4 form with many of the photographs remade from copies in Ford's archives. Please note: This book does NOT cover preparation of engines as these varied depending on individual rally regulations.
A4, 156 pages, over 120 line drawings and photographs. Soft covers.

Setting up and Tuning Weber DCOE Carburettors
This book on Wber DCOE carburettors is a companion book to our best-selling reprint of Ford Escort Rally Preparation, and from the same stable, Ford’s Boreham workshops where the works Escort Mk1 and Mk 2 rally cars were built and prepared. This down to earth material was first published by Ford as a series of ‘Carburettor Chats’ during 1974 and 1975 in the Technical Bulletins of the Ford Rallye Sport Club, a club run by Ford’s Advanced Vehicles Operation Division for private entrants who were preparing their own Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts for rallying. It was never published in book form. Reset and published for the first time as a book by Wallage Reprints. A4, 39 pages, 35 line illustrations. Soft covers.

Overhauling the Clayton Dewandre Vacuum Brake Servo 1920s & 1930s
Overhaul Manual for Clayton Dewandre Vacuum Brake Servos. Before the advent of today's compact vacuum brake servos for hydrualic brakes, many large cars and commercials fitted the quite large underfloor Clayton Dewandre servo for mechanical brakes. Information on overhauling these servos is not easy to find, but we have compiled this book from material first published in the early 1930s. As far as we know it is the only book dealing with overhauling these units. It covers stripping, renewing seals and gaskets and setting up. Invaluable to anyone with a Vintage car or commercial vehicle using this system.

Owner's Instruction book Vauxhall 12hp & 14hp 1933

A reprint of the owner's instruction book for the Vauxhall 12hp and 14hp six-cylinder models first published by Vauxhall Motors. It has been reset and remastered by us to A4 size. Maker's instruction books in the 1930s were different from those issued today. In the 1930s, car owners were expected to carry out more maintenance and servicing of their cars than is the case today. While this is not a workshop manual and does not cover major overhauls, it covers all the points necessary for servicing and working on these cars to keep them in good running order.

Servicing and Maintaining Automatic Chassis Lubrication systems 1930s

Covers Luvax-Bijur, Ripault (Alcycl) and Tecalemit automatic lubrication systems.1930s service schedules often called for chassis lubrication every 500 miles or so. This was unpopular with owners, and frequently neglected. Accessory and component firms responded with centralised lubrication systems, some automatic and some calling for pushing down a pedal every morning. Service information on these sysems is not easy to find, so to help owners of 1930s cars we have compiled this book from a number of sources published in the 1930s. Owners of cars fitted with these systems will welcome this book. Because the material comes from different sources, there is inevitably some duplication of the popular Luvax Bijur system, but we have not attmpted to edit these into one one account.
